Life (or something like it)
I realize I’ve changed, we all have. Not because we wanted to or anything, but because we had to. Life just got a little harder. It’s getting harder every day. Where we were vulnerable, we’re now unbreakable. Where we were too polite, now we’re stubborn. We always got what we want. Now, we have to work for it. We won’t give up. We won’t let go. We won’t ever walk away. Because this life doesn’t hand you anything. It’s hard. It hurts. But it only makes us stronger in the end. We realize that this world is in too much chaos, and we’re not going to sit back and let it happen. We will make a difference. This is our generation. We are the change we want to see in the world.
Naturally, we are inclined to be so mathematical and calculating that we look upon uncertainty as a bad thing … certainty is the mark of the common-sense life; gracious uncertainty is the mark of the spiritual life. To be certain of God means that we are uncertain in ALL our ways, we do not know what a day may bring forth. This is generally said with a sigh of sadness; it should rather be an expression of breathless expectation.
Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
